The purpose of this appointment is to discuss your cosmetic or medical requirements. You will discuss what you’d like to get from surgery, and Dr Doyle will explain the possible outcomes. Your surgery of interest will be discussed in detail including details such as scar placement and recovery time.
This is a great opportunity for you to get to know Dr Doyle and ask any questions you may have about the surgery, your treatment plan or anything else related to your care.

Your Consultation Appointment
Please allow 90 minutes for your initial surgery consultation. During this time, you will:
- Discuss surgery with Dr Doyle and his patient coordinator
- Discuss your family and medical history
- Look at before and after photos of your desired procedure
- Consider all potential surgery risks
- Get your surgery quote
- Look at surgery dates and potentially secure your appointment
- Ask and answer questions
We understand this is a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time. We encourage you to bring along a friend or family member to this appointment. Not only will they be able to support you, but they may be able to recall some information that you might’ve missed. It can be incredibly helpful to have someone to discuss your procedure with afterwards.
Virtual Consultations
If you’re unable to make it into the clinic, Dr Doyle offers virtual consultations. Your consultation will be held on Skype and will cover the same information. If your initial consultation is done online, Dr Doyle requires you to see him in person before going ahead with your procedure. This will be to take your photos and measurements as well as to confirm that you’re still suitable for surgery.
What Information to Have Ready
To make the most of your consultation, we recommend you bring/have access to:
- A list of any current medications you're taking
- Any relevant medical records
- Before and after photos of patients that you like their results
- A list of questions you'd like to ask
We understand that you may be nervous about your appointment. However, the more information you can provide will help Dr Doyle understand your case better and develop a surgical plan tailored just for you.
After Your Consultation
After your consultation with Dr Doyle, you will have a much better understanding of the surgery you’re interested in, the potential risks and complications involved and how the surgery is performed. You will also have a good understanding of your expected recovery time and aftercare requirements.

Plastic Surgeon Consultation FAQs
Dr Doyle has consultation availability on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Dr Doyle’s consultation fee is $285. This is paid at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
A medical referral isn’t required to book a consultation with Dr Doyle.
However, if your surgery is medical in nature (eg. blepharoplasty for vision problems), you may be able to claim a small rebate from Medicare.
Before booking your consultation, please check that your referral is still valid. A GP referral is valid for 12 months and a specialist referral is only valid for 3 months.
Yes, you are welcome and encouraged to bring a partner, friend or family member along to your consultation.
Please allow 90 minutes for your initial consultation with Dr Doyle. This will give you plenty of time to ask questions and discuss your options.
Yes, virtual consultations are available for all procedures. However, you will need to attend an in-person consultation before proceeding with surgery.
Yes, there is free street parking available on Boyd street and Tugun street directly near the clinic.
All cosmetic surgery procedures require a 10-day waiting period. This allows you to consider your procedure and risks in detail before committing to surgery.
The waiting time for surgery may be longer than this mandatory 10-day waiting period, but it is worth the wait to make sure you are making the best decision for yourself.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your consultation, please contact our office as soon as possible. If you don’t show up to your appointment without providing notice, we may not be able to refund your consultation fee.
